How it works

A classifieds board, not a middleman

CityTutor Classified connects parents who need tuition with tutors who are looking for students. There is no agency in between, no commission and no paid unlocking of contact details.

For parents and guardians

  1. Describe the tuition you need in the free form.
  2. We review the submission for completeness and spam.
  3. Once approved, tutors can see it and apply through the site.

No account, no login and no charge. Review applications privately and contact the tutors you choose. Your phone number is never published.

Post your requirement

For tutors and teachers

  1. Browse published tuition requirements — no sign-up.
  2. Filter by city, class, subject and home or online mode.
  3. Apply for the requirements that match your subjects and locality.

Every listing comes from a real submission and has been reviewed. There are no demo profiles, no paid leads and no commission.

Launch focus

Home tuition in Delhi and Mumbai

CityTutor Classified is launching with a focus on Delhi and Mumbai. Those two cities receive the first moderation attention and locality guidance, while requirements from other Indian cities are still accepted and reviewed in the normal way.

Find or post home tuition in Delhi

Parents in Delhi can describe a requirement for localities such as Dwarka, Rohini, Uttam Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Janakpuri, Saket, Pitampura, Karol Bagh, Vasant Kunj, Greater Kailash, Malviya Nagar, Mayur Vihar, Shahdara, Paschim Vihar or Mukherjee Nagar. Include the locality, the class, the school board if it matters (CBSE, ICSE or a state board), and the subjects so tutors can judge travel and syllabus fit.

Tutors can browse open tuition requirements in Delhi or search by class and subject. A city filter may be empty when nothing is currently published — that is an honest empty state, not a hidden list.

Find or post home tuition in Mumbai

In Mumbai, requirements commonly mention Andheri East or West, Borivali, Kandivali, Malad, Goregaon, Powai, Bandra, Dadar, Chembur, Mulund, Santacruz, Lower Parel, Juhu, Ghatkopar, Thane or Navi Mumbai. Say whether you want home tuition or online tuition, because travel across the city changes what is practical for a tutor.

Tutors can browse open tuition requirements in Mumbai. We do not claim coverage of every locality; the filters show exactly what has been approved and published.

No live listing for a locality simply means nothing has been approved there yet. We do not create placeholder listings or locality pages to imply availability.

Live listings

Recently published requirements

These are real requirements submitted by parents and approved by our moderator. If nothing is shown, no listing is currently approved — we never fill this space with invented examples.

No requirements are published yet

New submissions stay private until they are reviewed. When the first requirement is approved, it will appear here and on the Open Tuition Jobs page.

What it is

Clear definitions, so you know what to expect

CityTutor Classified is deliberately simple. Understanding these terms will help you use the site accurately.

Tuition requirement

A tuition requirement is a parent’s description of the teaching help they need: the class or grade, subjects, location, home or online mode, timing and any learning goals. Posting a requirement is free and does not create an account.

Published listing

A published listing is a requirement that an administrator has reviewed and approved. Only approved, active, non-expired listings appear on the public site. Pending, rejected, closed, expired and removed records stay out of public results.

Home tuition

Home tuition means the tutor teaches at the student’s home, or another agreed place nearby. It suits families who want in-person attention and a fixed weekly routine, and it requires a tutor who can travel to the locality.

Online tuition

Online tuition happens over a video call. It removes travel time and can widen the choice of tutors, but it needs a stable connection, a quiet space and a shared understanding of how homework and tests will be handled.

Private tutor

A private tutor is an individual teacher arranged directly by a family. CityTutor India does not employ tutors, screen their qualifications, set fees, collect payments or act as an agent for either side.

What this site is not

It is not a tutor directory and it does not sell leads. Parents cannot browse tutor profiles here, and tutors cannot create a profile. The site publishes requirements so that the two sides can contact each other directly.

Looking for a tutor to browse? This site lists requirements, not teachers. If you are a parent, the way to be found is to post a tuition requirement. If you are a tutor, start from the open tuition jobs page.
Choosing a format

Home tuition, online tuition, or either?

The right answer depends on the student’s age, the subject, the daily routine and how much travel is realistic. The comparison below is general guidance, not a promise about any individual tutor.

For parents

Describe the requirement well, and the right tutors can find you

A specific requirement saves everyone time. It helps tutors decide whether they can teach the subject, reach the locality and match the schedule before they call.

  • Class and board: mention the class or grade, and the school board if it affects the syllabus (for example CBSE, ICSE or a state board).
  • Subjects and goals: list the exact subjects and what you want to improve — concepts, exam preparation, homework support or regular revision.
  • Location and mode: give the city and locality for home tuition, or say clearly that you want online tuition.
  • Timing and frequency: say which days and times are realistic, and whether you want two, three or more sessions a week.
  • Budget: optional, but a realistic range reduces wasted calls.
  • An accurate phone number: it is private — never shown publicly and never sent to tutors — and is used only for messages from CityTutor about the requirement and for moderation.

Judge a requirement before you apply

Not every listing is a fit. Reading the details carefully protects your time and gives the parent a better experience.

  • Subject and level: check that the class, board and subjects are within your experience.
  • Travel or setup: for home tuition, confirm the locality is reachable; for online tuition, confirm the platform you will use.
  • Schedule fit: compare the preferred timing with your existing commitments before promising a slot.
  • Budget alignment: a listed budget is the parent’s indication, not a fixed offer. Discuss fees clearly and in advance.
  • Freshness: check the posted date. Old listings may already be filled, even if they have not yet expired.
  • Private contact: parent phone numbers are never shown. Apply through the site; do not try to guess a number or contact the family another way.

Trust and safety

Privacy is the default, not an afterthought

A tuition requirement contains personal information. Our rules are designed to collect only what is needed, publish only what is approved, and keep parent phone numbers private. Tutors apply through the site and the parent decides who to contact.

Reviewed before publishing

New submissions are pending by default. An administrator checks them for completeness, duplicates and abuse before they become public.

Private contact by design

Parent phone numbers are never shown publicly and never returned by the public API. Tutors apply through the site, and the parent contacts the tutors they choose.

Reporting and removal

Every published listing can be reported. Reports are reviewed by the site owner, and listings can be closed, expired or removed.

No paid ranking

There are no paid leads, no subscriptions and no boosted listings. Results are ordered by publication date, not by payment.

No accounts to manage

Parents and tutors never create passwords here. There is no public profile to fill in and no login that could expose another person’s details.

Clear lifecycle

A listing can be pending, published, rejected, closed, expired or removed. Only published, active and non-expired records appear in public results.

How approval and expiry work

  1. The parent submits the requirement with explicit contact consent.
  2. The record is saved as pending and is not publicly visible.
  3. An administrator reviews it, then publishes, edits or rejects it.
  4. Published listings receive an expiry date — 45 days by default — and stop appearing when they expire or are closed.
  5. Reports from tutors are reviewed in the same dashboard, and a listing can be removed if it is inaccurate, abusive or no longer needed.

What we deliberately do not do

  • We do not invent listings, testimonials, ratings or statistics.
  • We do not sell contact details or charge for leads.
  • We do not verify a tutor’s qualifications or guarantee a response.
  • We do not copy listings or personal data from other websites.
  • We do not publish contact details without recorded consent.

Questions and answers

Common questions about posting and browsing

Short, direct answers about how the platform works. Nothing here promises a specific number of responses or a particular tutor.

What is CityTutor Classified?

CityTutor Classified is a free, moderated tuition classifieds board for parents and tutors in India. Parents describe the tuition they need; tutors browse those requirements and apply through the site. Applications go only to the parent who owns the requirement, and parent phone numbers are never published. It is not a tutoring agency, a tutor directory, or a lead-selling service.

How can parents post a tuition requirement for free?

Open the Post Tuition Requirement page, describe the class, subjects, city, locality, tuition type and contact number, tick the consent box, and submit. There is no account, no login and no payment. The requirement goes into a review queue and is not visible publicly until an administrator approves it.

Do tutors need an account to browse tuition jobs?

No. The Open Tuition Jobs page is public. Tutors can search and filter published requirements without registering, logging in or paying for leads. Each published requirement has an Apply button; the application goes to the parent, who decides whether to respond.

Where can I find home tutors in Delhi or Mumbai?

CityTutor Classified is a requirement board rather than a tutor directory, so parents are found by posting. Choose your city and locality in the free form, describe the class and subjects, and submit. Tutors looking for home tuition jobs in Delhi or Mumbai can then browse the published requirements and apply; you review applications in your private post-management area and contact the tutors you choose. There is no guarantee that a particular subject or locality will receive a response.

Can I post a requirement outside Delhi or Mumbai?

Yes. The form accepts any Indian city; Delhi and Mumbai are simply the initial launch focus for content and moderation. Requirements elsewhere are still reviewed and, if approved, published in the normal way. Coverage and response rates will vary by location.

What information should a tuition requirement include?

The class or grade, the subject or subjects, whether you want home or online tuition, the city and locality, your preferred days or times, an optional budget, and any learning goals or additional needs. Clear, specific requirements help tutors judge whether they are a good fit before they call.

How does contact work, and who can see my phone number?

Nobody sees your phone number through the site. It is never shown on a public page and never sent to tutors. Tutors apply for your requirement instead, and the applications appear only inside your private post-management area, where you can shortlist, decline or select a tutor and then contact that tutor yourself. Your number is used only for messages from CityTutor about the requirement and for moderation. Numbers are never included in URLs or analytics.

Is every submitted requirement published?

No. Every requirement is reviewed before publication. We may reject incomplete, duplicate, abusive or misleading submissions, and we may ask for corrections. New submissions stay pending until they are approved, so nothing appears publicly automatically.

How long does a tuition listing stay live?

When a listing is approved, it is published with an expiry date. By default that is 45 days after publication, and the site owner can change the default. Parents can ask for a listing to be closed or removed earlier, and tutors should always check the posted date before calling.

Does CityTutor Classified guarantee that a tutor will contact me?

No. CityTutor Classified is a noticeboard that helps parents and tutors find each other. It does not employ tutors, verify qualifications, arrange lessons, take commissions or guarantee responses. Parents should check a tutor’s experience and references themselves.

Still unsure? Start with the posting guide or read the full FAQ — both pages explain the same rules in more detail.

Ready to post — or ready to teach?

Parents post free in a few minutes. Tutors browse free, without an account. Both sides stay in control of the conversation.
